The Rio Chama, near Abiquiu, New Mexico is a land of contrasts. The colorful desert landscape of peaks and mountains above fields and farms in the lush Rio Chama valley recalls a past history when native Americans and wildlife were the predominant occupants of the area. The Rio Chama is designated as a Wild and Scenic River, highlighting its natural beauty and ecological importance.

The Rio Chama, a tributary of the Rio Grande, is a scenic river in northern New Mexico, near Abiquiu, known for its colorful canyons and rock formations which were carved by the river. There are areas of moderate rapids, but this section of the river in August is pretty placid and lends
itself to fishing on a lazy summer afternoon. This particular year the surrounding plant life was very green for the deserts of New Mexico. The sky, clouds, and plants reflected in the water lends an atmosphere of restfulness.

Spring in the Central Valley of California. Located south of Bakersfield. Looking at the Tehon Ranch property.

In the Tehachapi area there is a large heard of mustangs. They look like they have morgan bloodlines and the history of the area seems to back this up. These horses are beautiful and more refined than the typical mustang. They are on private property so to see them one must contact the person keeping watch over them.

Art 2021 Tehachapi! The paintout was in May. This horse trail is in Sycamore Canyon and is hiked on foot also. The spring flowers were still amazing and the sun and shadows emphasized the brilliance of the colors.

The southern end of San Joaquin Valley in California is defined by the Tehachapi Mountains that spring up suddenly from the valley floor. This area is prime viewing for wildflowers in the spring.
