“INTO THE CANYON”
The Rio Chama, a tributary of the Rio Grande, is a scenic river in northern New Mexico, near Abiquiu, known for its colorful canyons and rock formations which were carved by the river. There are areas of moderate rapids, but this section of the river in August is pretty placid and lends itself to fishing on a lazy summer afternoon. This particular year the surrounding plant life was very green for the deserts of New Mexico. The sky, clouds, and plants reflected in the water lends an atmosphere of restfulness.

“DUSK ON THE SWAMP”
In the small town of Murell’s Inlet, South Carolina, is the Huntington Beach State Park. Arriving about two hours before dark, we were delighted to see the variety of birds having a feast at low tide and frolicking in the shallow water, also spotting a few alligators. As the evening drew near, the sun glimmered through the clouds, creating a shimmer of beauty as it reflected in the waters of the swamp.
