The southern end of San Joaquin Valley in California is defined by the Tehachapi Mountains that spring up suddenly from the valley floor. This area is prime viewing for wildflowers in the spring.

Land between the Lakes in Kentucky is a National Recreation Area. It has herds of protected buffalo, elk, other wildlife and one of the few natural prairies left.

Located in Saint Genevieve County, is the Crown Valley Winery, overlooking miles of vineyards with rolling hills in the distance. The setting is strongly reminiscent of the Napa Valley in California.

The final morning of the paintout in Tehachapi was spent with wild Morgan mustangs in Oak Creek Canyon. There were about 85 horses in the herd with 7 stallions and their mares and also young stallions not accepted by any group. There were several foals wanting to join the fun, but staying fairly close to Momma for a quick snack when the mood struck.
