The address is 410 West D Street, Tehachapi. This is a ticketed event.

Elk In The Meadow
In Bear Valley Springs there is an indigenous elk herd that wander the valley unrestricted. They are often found hanging out in the meadow around the 3 lakes in the valley. Although most people know to stay way back from these magnificent wild animals, some people new to the valley get way too close to these wild animals, endangering themselves and the elk.

Hiding In Plain Sight
One of the cutest wildlife are baby fawns. These fawns are in Bear Valley Springs, California. The have been \”hidden\” by their mother while she goes off to eat. They are curious and look around instead of just lying under the large pine tree.
Mustang Valley
In the Tehachapi area there is a large heard of mustangs. They look like they have morgan bloodlines and the history of the area seems to back this up. These horses are beautiful and more refined than the typical mustang. They are private property so to see them one must contact the person keeping watch over them.

Artists and patrons alike are looking forward to this show. The artwork selected has been of the highest standard in the past and expects to be even better this year.
I am pleased and honored to have three paintings in the show.

The head promotional team is Laura and Dwight Dreyer. Their concept to bring a high quality first class art show to the growing area of Tehachapi California has come to fruition with the success of Art Tehachapi.

La Quinta Art Celebration has been named the #1 art show by Greg Lawler’s Art Fair SourceBook Elite Top Ten in the Nation 2022.
I participated in this show for many years prior to my move to Springfield, MO. This year I am excited to again be part of one of the premiere shows in the nation. La Quinta, CA in March is generally warm and beautiful while the rest of the nation still struggles with the end of winter. The show promoters are adhering to the State of California COVID protocol. All attendees will have their temperatures taken by Security. If you are not vaccinated, the show encourages you to wear a mask. Everyone must practice social distancing and wash hands frequently using one of 22 hand sanitizing stations on site. This is an outdoor event held on the 10 acre Civic Center Park, and attendance will be held to lower than 5000 per day including all volunteers, staff and vendors.

Ticket Prices are as follows: Adult Tickets $20,
Multi-Day Pass $30,
Children Under 12 are Free.
Licensed Service Dogs Only

Parking: Valet Parking $15
Paid Self-Parking $10

Please join me for an exciting event March 3-6, 2022, and enjoy the new art I have to share. Annette Hammer is in Booth # 263.

Sunlight and Shadow
Art 2021 Tehachapi! The paintout was in May. This horse trail is in Sycamore Canyon and is hiked on foot also. The spring flowers were still amazing and the sun and shadows emphasized the brilliance of the colors.
Leisurely Morning
The final morning of the paintout in Tehachapi was spent with wild Morgan mustangs in Oak Creek Canyon. There were about 85 horses in the herd with 7 stallions and their mares and also young stallions not accepted by any group. There were several foals wanting to join the fun, but staying fairly close to Momma for a quick snack when the mood struck.

Mustang Momma

Art 2021 Tehachapi held in the California town of Tehachapi was a resounding success! The first time show, conceived by Dwight and Laura Dreyer, was masterfully organized with the help of the Tehachapi Arts Commission as well as many local art lovers. The purpose of Arts Tehachapi was to establish Tehachapi as a destination for representational fine artists and collectors. The proceeds of the opening night gala are to benefit the local hospital arts acquisitions.  The opening night was July 23rd and was well attended by hundreds of excited and knowledgeable collectors.  The hall rang was positive energy.  Comments were made as to the high quality of the art work in the show.  The show was designed in the style of the Autry Museum’s Master’s of the American West Show. The weekend continued through Saturday and Sunday.  Art work unsold on the first weekend is still available for purchase on the website www.artstehachapi.org. There were 38 nationally-recognized artists who came to Tehachapi for an en plain air event in May and the resulting show in July.  The featured artist was Otto Sturcke.

As a personal note, the three paintings i contributed to the show were sold the first night at the gala. They are displayed here. My many thanks go to the collectors who purchased my paintings.  It made for an exciting night for me. My considerable thanks go to the Dreyers who dreamed this show, then worked for over 2 years to see it come to fruition. The show of course was delayed a year by Covid, but the dream was kept alive until this year with wonderful success.

Other members of the staff who worked to make this show happen are Donald Towns, Jim and Cheryl Wilson, Sally Lawrence, Pat Doody, and the Dorner Family Vineyard.  Many local businesses contributed to the swag bags presented to the artists at the May paint-out. Many thanks to them also.

The founding sponsors are listed on the web page www.artstehachapi.org.
